The Rain falls on the just and the unjust...

We have all heard the sayings such as the Bible verse above about rain falling on the just and the unjust. Or maybe "The good die young." Or "She was taken before her time." And "Why do bad things happen to good people?" It seems sometimes life can be unfair. The reality is that these sayings resonate deeply with many of us, reflecting a truth about the unpredictability of life. We often find ourselves questioning the reasons behind misfortunes that befall seemingly innocent individuals while others, who may not deserve it, seem to thrive. It reminds us of the vulnerability of our existence and raises a profound inquiry into the moral fabric of our world, challenging us to seek understanding and perhaps find solace in the shared experience of human suffering.

Challenges that come may be financial, relational, emotional, or even with our physical health. With our focus here primarily dealing with the latter, it would be remiss to mention that a physical ailment or disease can often bring all of the other challenges at the exact same time. Treatments can crush our spirit, tax our relationships with family or friends, and certainly strain our finances. What is important to remember is that there is always hope for improvement, and that you are not alone!

Understanding the Good
Coping with the Bad

Life can be a beautiful thing! The beauty of a fresh Spring day, with the flowers blooming and the sun shining brightly in the sky. The happy newlywed couple, embracing each other with love and laughter, just starting their journey together. The joy of a healthy newborn baby, whose tiny fingers wrap around a parent’s hand, bringing immense happiness and hope for the future. The excitement of a new graduate, tossing their cap into the air in celebration of their hard work and achievements, ready to take on the world and pursue their dreams. All these moments remind us of the joy and wonder that life can offer, making each day precious and unique.

If we carefully evaluate our lives, so many blessings are usually accounted for at various stages of our experience here on earth. Listing those things and giving thanks certainly helps to put us in the right frame of mind for when challenges come. Take inventory of the good, use that to fuel your hope and faith in times of struggle. A wise man once said, "You are either in a trial right now or coming out of one!" With that being said, our human experience may be a reminder from the Lord above that this life is temporary. We certainly need to make the best of it each day.
